Born and raised in Spain, Miguel attended the , where he graduated with a degree in architecture. A will to extend his understanding of architecture led him to travel to the United States, where he has carried out most of his career, first working for corporate America () and later collaborating with award-winning architect Alberto Campo Baeza in the design and construction of the Olnick Spanu House.

Over the past two decades, he has worked for Real Estate owners Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu in several fields spanning from design, construction and management. Additionally, he had the opportunity to work with many international artists in order to help them implement and install site-specific projects in Garrison, NY. This led him to found in 2013. Subsequently, he participated in the development of Magazzino Italian Art, a museum located in Cold Spring, NY dedicated to advancing scholarship and public appreciation of postwar and contemporary Italian art in the United States. 

During twenty-five years of professional experience in the fields of design, construction and development, Miguel has continued his education; he holds a Master鈥檚 degree in Real Estate Development from , and another in Construction Management from and recently started teaching architecture at the . He is a member of the Magazzino Advisory Board, where he collaborates on local community reaching and engagement.

His work has been published in The New York, Times, la Biennale di Venezia, Architectural Record, A+U, Domus and Casabella, among other magazines, and he has been recognized with several awards including an Honor in Architecture by AIA New York and the Dedalo Minosse International Prize.

Join Miguel Quismondo, AIA, founder of MQ Architecture, for an exploration of the Architect-Builder ethos鈥攁 practice that unites creative vision with the precision of hands-on building. Through three key projects鈥攖he Olnick Spanu House, Magazzino Italian Art, and the Robert Olnick Pavilion鈥擰uismondo will share insights into the craft of a design built approach to architecture. The lecture will highlight themes of materiality, minimalism, and adaptive reuse, offering a unique perspective on how architecture can be both conceptual and deeply grounded in construction.
